Greece shocked all the nay sayers by beating Ivory Coast 2-1 on Tues, June 24, 2014 at the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil. It was a game full of drama. After all, the Greeks did invent drama! Panagiotis Kone was injured early in the game and substituted by Samaris. Then, starter goalie Orestis Karnezis was injured and replaced by Glykos

The first goal was assisted by Samaras and completed by substitute Samaris. However, Ivory coast tied it 1-1 but it was the saviour of Samaras' penalty in the 92nd minute that secured Greece's 2-1 win.

The Greeks clearly deserved this historic win! With 2 crossbar shots, 1 side post, 2 injuries and a counterattack game they have never produced at a World Cup stage!
